The Ground Controlled Intercept Training Centre was established in 2014 as a consequence of far-reaching changes in the use of aviation. Technically advanced, modern aviation platforms, as well as efficient use of command systems, analysis and data transfer, and interference resistant communication systems resulted in the need for changes in continuously evolving Polish aviation safety environment.

The centre responding to the demands of a constant change and the necessity of effective interoperability between Polish Air Force Defence system and combat platforms and NATO systems, as well as close cooperation with pilots and within NATO’s NATINAMDS integrated defence system, performs main tasks connected with practical specialized ground controlled intercept training.
